RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE
Looking for a suitable residential aged care home can be a daunting process. Relocating yourself, or finding an appropriate home for a loved one, is a major life decision. Please contact Intake and Assessment Officer on 03 5629 6096 to discuss your needs and organise a tour of our home.
For further information about accessing aged care and an up-to-date guide to services available see the My Aged Care website: www.myagedcare.gov.au
You can call the My Aged Care contact centre on 1800 200 422 (Free call) to organise an aged care assessment service (ACAS) to determine your eligibility. A referral is required from the ACAS team to access our services.
A resident and family are now given a choice upon entry to a facility as to whether they wish to pay a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), or an equivalent Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) or a combination of both. Prospective residents are required to undertake a means test via Centrelink. Services Australia will then communicate with both the resident and Hillview Bunyip Aged Care Inc. on their capacity to pay the relevant permanent care fees. If the means test deems that you cannot pay the fees necessary, then you can enter as a supported resident. If you have any questions or concerns you can discuss these with our Intake and Assessment Officer.

Common Areas Description
Residents living in our facility have access to a variety of communal areas. These include the “Hill Centre” where residents can play bowls, participate in art classes, bingo, music, singalongs, cooking, religious services and access the internet. All of these activities take place throughout the week and weekend for the resident’s enjoyment. The centre includes a self-contained kitchen which allows for self-catering of private resident family functions. The area is fully air conditioned with exceptional views of surrounding farms and bushland.
Our dining room seats 40 people in a bistro style setting. In between mealtimes residents are able to access tea/coffee making facilities along with bowls of fresh fruit.
There are other small lounge/quiet areas throughout the building, including an area for television watching, which adjoins the sunlit courtyard, and alongside our resident birds.
We have extensive courtyards and gardens where residents and family can stroll and enjoy the bushland environment, including a community garden where residents can grow fresh produce and flowers.
Finally, we have a small hair salon on-site which provides our residents with hair dressings services weekly.
